Dr. Buter earned his Bachelor of Arts from Calvin College and his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at Carolinas Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, past chief of staff at Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital, and past chief of surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, NC.
Dr. Buter is active in many areas of orthopedics, but he particularly enjoys treating athletes and their unique problems. Since 1980, he has been the team physician for several college and high school teams, including South Mecklenburg High School; located near his office.
Some of Dr. Buter's hobbies include golf, reading and sports of all types. He and his wife Betsy have four children.
Dr. Buter enjoys sports medicine as well as meeting people of all ages who desire to be healthy and active in their work and recreational pursuits.
