Matthew D. Ohl, MD
The advent of total joint replacement is one of many reasons why Dr. Ohl, a hip and knee specialist, chose orthopedic medicine as his profession. A native of West Virginia, Dr. Ohl was drawn to North Carolina while a student at Wake Forest University. He earned his medical degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine, served his internship and residency at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, OH, and was awarded a fellowship in reconstructive surgery and biomechanics of the hip and knee in St. Louis, Missouri, under Dr. Leo Whiteside. With his special interests in sports injuries and arthritis surgery, Dr. Ohl sees patients in our University office, Suite 1110. He is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. In addition to being active in civic and cultural activities, Dr. Ohl also enjoys spending time with his family.
