Dr. Sebold was born in Syracuse, New York. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, and completed his general surgery residency and orthopedic surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. To further his specialty training, Dr. Sebold completed a fellowship in foot and ankle disorders at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles. Dr. Sebold is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS).
Dr. Sebold joined Charlotte Orthopedic Specialists (now OrthoCarolina) in July 1993 to open the Foot & Ankle Center, where he treats all foot and ankle disorders, including trauma, deformity, bunions, arthritis, sports-related injuries, and diabetic complications. Surgeries include fusions, non-unions, post-traumatic reconstructive surgery and complex reconstructive surgery. He has extensive training and experiences in the treatment of lower and upper extremity fractures and heads the OrthoCarolina trauma center for Presbyterian Healthcare System. Dr. Sebold is also a member of the O.L. Miller Foot and Ankle Institute affiliated with Carolina’s Medical Center - Mercy, and he is affiliated with HealthSouth.
“Moving from place to place is how we individuals explore our world and enhance our lives,” says Dr. Sebold. When asked, what is the most important aspect of your profession as a foot and ankle surgeon? Dr. Sebold said, “I want to be known for doing the right thing for my patients.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sebold has many passions. He enjoys fine woodworking, reading, lifelong liberal arts learning, cooking, music, fitness, tennis, weight lifting and wilderness hiking. His wife, Shana, is a registered nurse in the operating room at Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital.
