Born in Beckley, WV, and son and grandson of physicians, Dr. DuPuy earned his Bachelor of Science from Emory University and his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He served as the division surgeon for the 113th Field Artillery at Fort Bragg, NC, while completing his internship and orthopedic residency at Charlotte Memorial Hospital (now Carolinas Medical Center). He has remained in Charlotte to enjoy the area and practice sports medicine and general orthopedics since that time.
Dr. DuPuy is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians and a member of the Southeastern and North Carolina Pain Society. He is a past chief of the department of orthopedics at Presbyterian Hospital, serves on the board of trustees of Presbyterian Orthopedic Hospital and is a past chief of staff at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews.
Dr. DuPuy is married to his college sweetheart, Sandy, and the father of three children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending it on his farm. Dr. DuPuy enjoys getting to know his patients personally and solving their orthopedic problems.
