There is also the length of the recovery and if you will have to have any type of rehabilitation. Some types of orthopedic surgery can take quite a while to get completely over.
You will want to make sure that you have a family member who will be able to help you with anything that you may need after the surgery.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. In order to possibly get the best care, you will also want to try to schedule your orthopedic surgery for as early in the week as you can. The hospital may not have as many staff working on the weekend, so you may not get the best care.
You will also want to make sure that your health insurance will pay for the surgery. If it does not pay, then you could have an extremely high bill in the end. Another thing to remember is that you are not allowed to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before a surgery. You need to have a stomach that is completely empty.
